School Project: Darklands

This is a project made together with Leo over the time of 1½ week in Unreal Engine 5.
I though about my old Doom mod and tried recreating parts of it out of memory. i planned most of the thing.
The course was Level Design. The part I made was from the start inside the cage to the tower entrance.
I made most of the textures and modeled the trees, gravestones, houses, and environment. I also made the VFX for the torches and materials.

the texturing is a botch job (short project) but the colors are dark and moody enough to give a nice atmosphere.

i used the modelling tools in UE5 to block out and work on the level inside of the editor until i was satisfied with the level. Then i exported the different parts into Blender to clean up and re-work some parts. Also made UV-unwraps waaay easier.

Leo programmed the pickup mechanics and worked his ass off to make the whole thing not break (physics based gameplay can be somewhat volatile). Leo is a Legend. <3
He also made the tower puzzles!
